PETER BRAUNHOLZ
Peter grew up in a musicians family, his father being the solo cellist of the Frankfurt Opera Orchestra and his mother a piano teacher. He started learning classical piano at the age of five and concentrated lateron on keyboards, guitar, percussion and – last not least – electric bass, which became his main instrument.
He established the rockband „Floy“ with drummer Dieter Steinmann (Klaus Lage, Pe Werner), saxophonist Christian Felke (Rainhard Fendrich, Klaus Lage), guitarist Frank Kierspel and keyboarders Jürgen Beitel and Bo Heart (Klaus Lage). Lead singers were Heike Vieweg, who later adopted the bandname "Floy" for herself, and Masha Karell (Cats, Mary Poppins). He also played in various other bands, had a study stay at Musicians Institute in Los Angeles, played as tour guest from the legendary Soul/Rock-Group "Mother's Finest" and also played as session musician with and for renowned musicians. Peter played keyboards, electric bass and classical and electric guitar on more than 150 TV-, Radio- and Live-Shows – f. e. with Patricia Kaas live on ZDF TV – and also played on many studio recordings. He was endorser for Dynacord and introduced electronic drumsets and bass amplifiers on music fairs and in music stores with Nippy Noya (Peter Maffay) and Martin Stoeck (Pur).
As a producer/arranger/sound engineer he worked for several years at DMC Recording Center in Rüsselsheim and was involved in many music productions, f. e. with Aziza Zadeh, Anna Maria Kaufmann and Elena Kamburova. In cooperation with Ingo Werner he produced the album "Kiran" by R. A. Ramamani & The Karnataka College of Percussion from Bangalore/India at Bauer Studios in Ludwigsburg.
For several years Peter paused with music and worked as an author, designer and industrial photographer for industrial firms, f. e. Daimler, Deutsche Telekom, Stollwerck, Roche and Porsche. Since 1999, he concentrated on photographic art. Click HERE to visit his official photography website.
From 2010 until 2018 Peter performed with small jazz formations and solo at various locations in Germany, f. e. Goethe University Frankfurt, Kunstverein Germersheim, Heyne Kunstfabrik Offenbach and Atelier Frankfurt. In 2019, Peter was asked to take part at a public jam session at "Jazz im Sägewerk" in Bad Hofgastein, one of the finest jazz clubs in Austria, and shortly later to perform live solo on classical guitar at Kunst Haus Wien – Museum Hundertwasser, where he exhibited his latest photographic works at that time. Peter built up his own recording studio and continues his music work.
